The Fredericksburg Rescue Squad is hosting an all-day community training event for the community on Thursday, May 23rd. Trained instructors from Rocky Mountain Resuscitation will teach a “Stop The Bleed” course. The Squad is also offering CPR instruction.

The Rescue Squad says you will learn life-saving skills such as: Direct pressure, wound packing, and tourniquet usage. No prior
medical training is needed. Classes are 90 minutes. You can drop by any time and you don’t need to register.

Class times: 8:00. 9:30. 11:00, 12:30, 2:00.

May is National Stop The Bleed Month and May 23 is National Stop The Bleed Day. The Rescue Squad says a bleeding injury can happen anywhere. Life-threatening bleeding can happen to people injured in serious accidents or disasters. Instead of
being a witness, you can become an immediate responder because you know how to STOP THE BLEED®.

The Fredericksburg Rescue Squad is an all-volunteer non-profit EMS agency serving the city of Fredericksburg and providing mutual-aid service to the surrounding counties. Founded in 1940, FRS is the second-oldest rescue squad in Virginia.
