Great Train Race gives back–$16,000 + to the community

Great Train Race wrap-up. Organizers say:

• The race had 1,519 registered participants (the most since 2019)
• The GTR donated over $12,000 to Loisann’s Hope House!
o Free race entries and new running shoes for Hope House kids
• $2200 to the Fredericksburg Area Service League
• $2000 to local schools
• $500 to the Fredericksburg Fire Department
Race Director Brian Pessolano says they able to keep the cost of registration low and offer family discounts so more kids can participate. He says they can only continue to do that and make a difference in the community, through charitable donations. Pessolano says there’s one more event. On June 8th at the FredNats game, all the runners are invited to participate in a pre-game parade.
