Spotsylvania County authorities are searching for a 23-year-old woman wanted in connection to a triple homicide Tuesday night in the 10500 block of White Street Court off of Benchmark Road.

Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the address to conduct a welfare check at approximately 10 p.m. After entering the residence, they discovered three adults — two men and one woman — dead as a result of upper body trauma.

After evidence was collected, investigators came to believe that the victims’ roommate, Alyssa Jane Venable of Spotsylvania, was the perpetrator.

Venable is wanted on three charges of second-degree murder and use of a firearm during the commission of a felony. The investigation is ongoing and still in the early stages, according to the Sheriff’s Office, with some details of the incident being withheld.

Detectives are actively pursuing leads on Venable’s whereabouts. She was arraigned in Spotsylvania General District Court May 30 on a misdemeanor assault and battery charge related to a May 12 incident. The case was continued until June 28.

The Sheriff’s Office is withholding the names of the murder victims because their next of kin have not yet been notified. Investigators are urging the public to call 800/928-5822 or 582-5822 with any tips Online tips can be provided at p3tips.com or spotsylvaniacrimesolvers.org.
