Stafford County is asking for input from residents and users of Garrisonville and Warrenton roads.
The county has identified these roads as two of the county’s least safe — and most congested — and online input will be used to apply for funding through the Virginia SMART SCALE grant program next year.
The funding will be used to conduct studies of each roadway through the Program for Affordable Transportation Hotspot Solutions. It’s designed to examine existing conditions and determine critical intersection(s) or road segment(s) for which to recommend solutions. The aim is to enhance roadway safety, improve accessibility and reduce congestion.
The county wants users of Garrisonville and Warrenton roads to help identify critical intersections and roadway segments where transportation hotspots occur: Garrisonville Road (Route 610) between Stafford Marketplace/Salisbury Drive and Eustace Road, and Warrenton Road (U.S. 17) between Lendall Lane/Solomon Drive and Stafford Parkway/Fleet Connector Road.
The online surveys will be open through May 16. Additional opportunities for public input will be available this fall.
