The Fredericksburg Police Department made an arrest Thursday in a 2023 slaying that had yielded few leads previously.
Ahmad Haigler 26, of Spotsylvania, was arrested and taken into custody on charges related to the fatal shooting of Antione Fox, 19, of Fredericksburg, on June 10, 2023.
Haigler is currently being held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail under no bond and is facing multiple charges, including first-degree murder, use of a firearm to commit murder, conspiracy to commit murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Fredericksburg Police Department detectives actively investigated the case for nearly two years and they identified a suspect through evidence collected during the investigation.
In a statement, department officials thanked detectives, who “have dedicated invaluable time and effort to this investigation.”
