Fast forecast

  • Thunderstorms most likely Friday and Saturday
  • Hottest on Sunday
  • Less humid early next week

Showers and thunderstorms are expected both Friday and Saturday, with the potential for minor flash flooding of streams, creeks, and poor-drainage areas each afternoon and evening. While some scattered storms will be in the area on Sunday, they are not expected to be as numerous as Friday and Saturday.

A weak area of high pressure will drift by north of Washington early next week, briefly turning our winds from the northeast, and taking a small bite out of the high humidity of the last several days. This will also keep afternoons in the 80s and allow nights to slip into the mid-upper 60s early next week. Plus, it will cut back the chance of showers and thunderstorms dramatically for a couple of days, giving the Fredericksburg region a chance to dry out.

Normal temperatures next week:

Highs: Upper 80s
Lows: UpperĀ 60s
