All Spotsylvania students now eligible for free breakfast and lunch

All Spotsylvania County Public School students will be eligible to receive free lunch for the 2025-26 school year.

SCPS Food Service Supervisor Jessica Henderson sent correspondence to parents on Tuesday stating that all schools in the county will be implementing the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for the upcoming school year.

CEP allows eligible schools participating in the USDA National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program to provide meals at no cost to all students without meal applications.

This means all students attending any SCPS school will receive breakfast and lunch at no charge.

“You do not have to take any action,” Henderson wrote to parents. “The student(s) in your household who attend a participating CEP school will receive a complete breakfast and lunch meal at no cost without you paying a fee or submitting a meal application.”

Henderson requested that anyone seeking additional information should call 582-5894, Ext. 1966 or 1967.
