In November, Stafford County will hold local elections with 18 candidates vying for four board of supervisors seats and four school board seats. Statewide races for governor, lieutenant governor and attorney general are also on the ballot, as well as multiple House of Delegates races. Here’s what to expect.

Statewide

The county also has a portal that directs you to the Virginia Department of Elections website to enter your address to find out your polling place. We checked it, and it works! Deadlines and details
- In-person early voting begins Sept. 19 and goes through Nov. 1
- The deadline to apply for a ballot to be mailed to you is Oct. 24
- Election Day is Nov. 4

On Sept. 10 at 5:30 p.m. at Germanna Community College in Stafford, the Free Press is hosting a forum for those candidates running in contested races for school board and board of supervisors. Candidates will be grouped by district, and a schedule will be released soon.
