The annual Mary’s Ribbons display is taking place this month at the Mary Washington House on Charles Street in Fredericksburg. Hundreds of pink ribbons are being tied to the fence in honor and remembrance of those affected by breast cancer.
The display continues through October as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The site holds special meaning, as Mary Ball Washington–the mother of George Washington– died in the home after her own battle with breast cancer.
