- An Einstein Bros. Bagels location is coming to a storefront along Plank Road in Spotsylvania County. The popular bagel chain has leased the 1,400-square-foot space currently occupied by Tobacco Hut at 3500 Plank Road, according to Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer. Negotiations are ongoing with Tobacco Hut for the business to relocate within the center. Einstein Bros. formerly had area locations at Eagle Village and inside Mary Washington Hospital.
- There were 75 homes sold in the past week in the Fredericksburg area, including one for $1.11 million in Spotsylvania, according to the weekly sales list from the Fredericksburg Area Association of Realtors. Check back weekly for the new list.
- YMMAS Pizza at 801 Caroline St. in Fredericksburg (behind the Sammy T’s restaurant) is now called Sammy’s Chicago Style Deep Dish Pizza. The pizza is available for dine-in at Sammy T’s, pickup or delivery.
- Robles Kitchen Mexican Cantina in Fredericksburg is the subject of this week’s Biz Beat Clips video.
- Jeff Small, who doubles as Clerk of Fredericksburg Circuit Court and a longtime local serial entrepreneur, is the guest on this week’s edition of the Biz Beat Banter podcast.
- Stafford County’s Economic Development office this year is rolling out an initiative for Small Business Saturday on Nov. 29. The program, called “Shop Small Stafford,” will include a digital-passport program that will give customers of participating businesses a chance to win gift cards. Stafford businesses are being asked to sign up to participate. There will also be a Shop Small Market that day at Long Family Markets at 163 Staffordboro Blvd.
- Tickets will go on sale this coming weekend for Historic Fredericksburg Foundation Inc.’s 55th Annual Candlelight Tour, which will be Dec. 13-14. The tour will highlight the sites and stories of 18th-century Fredericksburg, featuring the Mary Washington House, Fielding Lewis’s 1749 store, the James Monroe Museum, St. George’s Episcopal Church and cemetery, the 1785 building that houses the Fredericksburg Creative Center for the Arts, and the circa-1770 Richard Johnston Inn building.
- The University of Mary Washington (UMW) last week held a ground-breaking for a multi-million-dollar modular locker-room facility at the Battleground Athletic Complex off Hanover Street in Fredericksburg. The facilities are expected to be ready by August 2026. UMW plans an initiative to name lockers in honor of alumni and friends.

The former Burger King property in Fredericksburg is being renovated for a new eatery.
A business called New York Fried Chicken and Subs has leased the former Burger King building across from the Central Park main entrance at 3052 Plank Road in Fredericksburg.
- A site plan has been submitted to the Fredericksburg Community Planning & Building Department for the conversion of the Medical Arts Building at 2301 Fall Hill Ave. into 29 apartment units. Fredericksburg City Council recently approved a special-use permit for the project. The public can submit comments on the plan to the Planning Department until Nov. 17.
- Dickinson Drywall & Construction has leased the space at 110 Hanover St. in Downtown Fredericksburg.
- Construction is under way on the Dave’s Hot Chicken space at 1999 Carl D. Silver Parkway in Central Park, next to Fleet Feet.
