The tough-as-nails, community-focused volunteers at Rappahannock Education Farm in White Oak pushed through a wet, chilly Saturday morning to harvest and donate 28 crates of collards and kale—more than 500 pounds—to four church pantries. They also cleared frost-killed zucchini and cucumber plants and planted a cover crop across open fields.
The non-profit farm has now donated 34,400 pounds of fresh produce this year to help reduce hunger and food insecurity in the region.
