High school business club helps rescue dogs find second chances

by | Dec 27, 2025 | News, Spotsylvania, Stafford, Ted Schubel

Stafford High School’s Future Business Leaders of America students turned a school fundraiser into real help for rescue dogs. The group raised nearly $450 to sponsor a mother dog and her seven puppies at Old Dominion Humane Society, with additional funds supporting the nonprofit’s ongoing rescue work.

Students spent months promoting the effort through posters and morning announcements, rallying classmates to support the no-kill, volunteer-led organization. As part of the sponsorship, students selected an Anime theme for the litter, naming the mother Maki and her pups Toji, Gojo, Todo, Yuta, Mahoraga, Sukuna and Yuji.

Old Dominion Humane Society says the donation will help cover food, veterinary care and other costs as the dogs prepare for adoption.
