Fredericksburg hosts Winter Restaurant Week Jan. 16 through Jan. 25, bringing together restaurants from across the city to celebrate our vibrant and diverse food scene.
Winter can be tough for restaurants, with fewer visitors in town and weather keeping the locals at home. This week offers a prime opportunity for chefs and restaurateurs to showcase their creativity, attract new diners and reconnect with loyal customers. From signature dishes to special prix-fixe menus, participating restaurants help highlight the unique flavors that make Fredericksburg a dining destination.
We stopped by Locavore on William Street to see what Chef Dan Perron has cooked up for the event.

Locavore is located in downtown Fredericksburg at 314 William St.

Chef Dan Perron prepared a radish salad for the first course.

The radish salad features an almond milk ranch dressing, croutons and cured egg yolk grated on top.

One option for the main course is Chesapeake rockfish.

The rockfish is served on a bed of spaghetti squash and topped with a green coconut curry broth.

One dessert option will be this goat cheesecake with winter citrus and sesame sunflower crunch.

The cheesecake was creamy and the crunchy toasted seeds and bright juicy citrus elevated the entire dessert.

Locavore is open Tuesday thru Thursday 4-9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 11 am.-10 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m.-8 p.m. They are closed on Mondays.
