UPDATED: Fredericksburg, Stafford schools offering free meals to students

The Fredericksburg and Stafford County schools are offering free meals for school-aged students Friday while schools remain closed due to weather conditions.

In the city, meals can be picked up at James Monroe High School (2300 Washington Ave.) from 2-4 p.m.

In an announcement, the school division noted that a parent or adult relative can pick up the meals and will need to provide students’ names. Students do not need to be present.

The announcement also mentions that Renatos, a downtown Fredericksburg restaurant, will offer free pasta meals for children between 3-6 p.m.

Stafford

The county schools will offer free grab-and-go meal service for students at two locations Friday. Families may pick up meals at the following schools:

  • Edward E. Drew Middle (501 Cambridge St., Fredericksburg, VA 22405)
  • Kate Waller Barrett Elementary (150 Duffy Drive, Stafford, VA 22554)

Meals may be picked up between 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
