Centennial Broadcasting has completed its acquisition of WGRQ-FM (95.9) and WGRX-FM (104.5) from Telemedia Broadcasting Inc., with the transfer finalized at midnight. Centennial already owns WBQB-FM (B101.5) and WFVA-AM (NewsTalk 1230), bringing four stations under one umbrella.

Tom Cooper, general manager of the former Telemedia stations, is retiring. Mark Bass will oversee all four Centennial stations, which will eventually operate from the company’s location at 1914 Mimosa St. in south Stafford. For now, WGRQ and WGRX will continue broadcasting from their Lafayette Boulevard studios in Spotsylvania.
