Division staff will discuss the plan during a work session on Monday prior to the regular meeting. Both schools were fully accredited by the Virginia Department of Education, according to its most recent report. But BGE was identified as “needing intensive support,” while CMS was labeled “off track.” Hubbard expressed concern about achievement gaps in relation to demographics, among other topics. Also, during the work session, Chief Operations Officer Marcia Stevens and Director of Finance and Budget John Farrelly will provide an update on the fiscal year 2027 budget.

The supervisors’ agenda this week is on the lighter side compared to some other meetings. The main thing that might draw a crowd is two public hearings on water regulations that will focus on the creation of a system for reclaimed water, which is treated but not enough to be potable. This water is intended for use in data centers and in some other industries.
