The Stafford County government recently announced the hiring of Jeffery Stamp as the county’s new budget director,
Stamp brings nearly two decades of experience in public sector financial management, budgeting and strategic planning to the locality.
He joins Stafford from Prince William County, where he most recently served as a fiscal manager with the Office of Management and Budget. Over his career, he’s gained experience in budget development, capital planning, operational analysis and financial oversight for local governments.
“Jeff brings a strong track record of financial leadership and public service,” County Administrator Bill Ashton said in the announcement of the hire. “His experience in budgeting and fiscal management will help ensure Stafford County continues to be a responsible steward of taxpayer resources while supporting the county’s strategic priorities.”
As budget director, Stamp will oversee the county’s budget-development process, financial forecasting and long-term fiscal planning. He will work closely with county leadership and departments to ensure Stafford maintains a strong financial foundation while supporting the services and infrastructure needed for a growing community.
Stamp expressed enthusiasm about joining the county and contributing to its future success, the announcement said.
“I’m excited to be joining the Stafford County team and look forward to helping support the county’s continued growth while ensuring we make smart financial decisions for our residents,” he said.
Stamp holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from George Mason University. In addition to his professional experience, he is actively involved in the community and currently serves as president of the Miracle League of Prince William County, a nonprofit organization that provides children and adults with disabilities the opportunity to play baseball.
