About 300 families attended the third annual Community Connections Expo last month, hosted by the Fredericksburg Area Health and Support Services in collaboration with the Fredericksburg Regional Continuum of Care.
The event surpassed all previous expos, setting a new record with 81 participating organizations gathered to provide community members with access to essential services and resources.
The expo serves as a vital bridge between residents of the Fredericksburg region and the organizations dedicated to supporting their well-being. This year’s event offered an expansive range of resources, including food assistance, clothing, medical services, and complimentary haircuts, ensuring that attendees had access to both immediate needs and longer-term support.
“The Community Connections Expo reflects our deep commitment to ensuring that no one in our community goes without the support they need,” Joseph Lyttle, FAHASS’ executive director, said in a prepared statement after the expo. “The record number of participating organizations this year is a testament to the strength and generosity of our regional partners, and we are grateful to everyone who made this event possible.”
The program was made possible through the generous support of its sponsors: Shore United Bank, Dominion Care and Macaroni Kids, FAHASS said. Their contributions helped enable FAHASS and its partners to deliver this impactful community activity at no cost to attendees.
FAHASS and the Fredericksburg Regional Continuum of Care expressed gratitude to all of the participating organizations, sponsors, volunteers, and community members whose presence and dedication made this year’s expo the most successful to date.
Planning for the fourth annual Community Connections Expo is already underway, with FAHASS committed to continuing and expanding this important tradition of community service.
