Anne Little says the new trees will help restore the tree canopy along the popular trail corridor.
This Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m., volunteers will shift their focus to the historic Eskridge Oak near the Mary Washington Monument on Washington Avenue, where heavy foot traffic has impacted the tree’s roots. Volunteers will place mulch around the oak to help cushion and protect the roots from further damage.
