From 10 a.m. Monday until 10 a.m. Tuesday, barbers will be giving haircuts nonstop as part of a fundraiser focused on helping at-risk youth.
The event is raising money for barber scholarships through the foundation. Founder Antoine Carey says the goal is to help young people gain skills, training and opportunities through barbering.
Carey says the Fade-A-Thon is pay what you can, with a suggested donation between $25 and $45 for a haircut. Faded Foundation has been providing free haircuts at the library. Carey hopes the Fade-A-Thon provides the funds necessary to increase their outreach.
The Faded Foundation has used barbering as a way to connect with young people through outreach, mentorship and community events across the Fredericksburg area.
