The Clarion hotel in Central Park has long been closed, but it’s now set to get new life.
A 194-room hotel at 2801 Plank Road in Fredericksburg’s Central Park development that has been closed for several years sold earlier this month for $9 million. Miami-based Kabani Hotel Group brokered the sale of the dual-branded Clarion and Comfort Inn, which was undergoing a renovation when it was marketed for sale. The buyer, a group of Warrenton-based investors organized under Radhey Central Park LLC, plans to complete the renovation and reposition the property under the Radisson hotel brand, according to principals with Kabani Hotel Group.
- BrightView Health has opened an Opioid Treatment Program at 5610 Southpoint Centre Blvd. in Spotsylvania County.
- A 1,200-square-foot retro arcade called Planet Novak Rewind will open Saturday (July 25) at the Spotsylvania Towne Centre. The business will feature classic arcade games from the 1980s and 1990s. It’s adjacent to the Planet Novak claw arcade, and ownership is the same for both businesses (Clint Novak and Nathan Hise). Plant Novak was recently featured on Biz Beat Clips (the business was called Cosmic Clawcade at the time and has since changed its name).
- The 1,160-square-foot building that has housed FORT pure play at 202 Herndon St. in Fredericksburg is now for sale through Coldwell Banker Elite with a list price of $810,000. The children’s-oriented FORT announced on social media that the company’s retail operations will continue (FORT is planning a new store at 417 William St. in downtown Fredericksburg, and it has a Richmond store as well).

The 7 Brew location in Ashland, Va.
A fast-growing drive-through-oriented coffee shop is planning a location in Fredericksburg’s Central Park development. 7 Brew Coffee has submitted plans to the City to build a 510-square-foot building with three drive-through lanes on a 0.85-acre portion of the Lowe’s parking lot at 1335 Carl D. Silver Parkway. A 7 Brew location is also planned at the Jarrell Properties’ Cowan Station project on the east side of U.S. 1 near Cowan Boulevard in Fredericksburg (1740 Olde William St.).
- There were 83 home sales in the Fredericksburg region over the past week, including five for $1 million or more, according to this week’s report from the Fredericksburg Area Association of Realtors. Check back weekly for the past-week sales.
- FFP report: Spotsylvania residents packed the Holbert Building to protest the proposed Crossroads Technology Campus data center project at Board of Supervisors and Planning Commission meetings last week.
