Kelli Le Duc, the director of community development for the county, will discuss recommendations from the Zoning Ordinance Text Amendment Committee (ZOTAC) regarding potential downzoning in the county.

ZOTAC met six times and is submitting recommendations to forward to the board of supervisors. Staff is seeking direction from the board so it can draft ordinance amendments for the planning commission.

ZOTAC does not support amending lot sizes in Agricultural-1 (A-1) zoning areas from 10 acres to 50 acres as previously discussed by the supervisors. It also does not support going from two to 20 acres in A-2 or from one to 10 acres in A-3. Five of the seven ZOTAC members voted for no changes at all, while two supported going from two to four acres in A-2.

Stafford County

Board of Supervisors meeting, Tuesday, 5 p.m.

Get the memo

The supervisors are scheduled to hold a handful of public hearings, but the most important one is on a plan to increase the county meals tax rate from 5 percent to 6 percent and the transient occupancy tax rate from 9 percent to 11 percent. The revenue generated from the 1 percent increase in the meals tax would be devoted to raises for school employees.
