Although most of this Memorial Day weekend will be simply cool and dry, a system moving across North Carolina on Sunday will spill clouds northward into Fredericksburg and bring a small chance for showers late Sunday afternoon and into Sunday night.
Afternoons through Monday will average in the lower 70s, while nights drop to the upper 40s.
Once the North Carolina system exits offshore, the next chance for soaking rain arrives late Tuesday and continues into Wednesday. Then temperatures will be closer to normal for the following weekend and into the first several days of June.
Normal temperatures next week:
Highs: Upper 70s
Lows: Upper 50s
