CSX rail maintenance work to close roads in Caroline and Spotsylvania

CSX railroad maintenance will require a handful of roads to close this week at railroad crossings in Caroline and Spotsylvania counties. The closures will begin at 7 p.m. Monday and last until 7 a.m. Wednesday.

In Caroline County, Route 609 (Woodslane Road) will close at a railroad crossing near Route 629 (Minarchi Road). Signs will be posted to guide motorists along the recommended detour: Route 2 (Fredericksburg Turnpike) and Route 626 (Woodford Road)

Route 656 (Coleman’s Mill Crossing) also will be closed at a crossing between Route 207 (Rogers Clark Boulevard) and Carneal Lane. Signs for the recommended detour also will be posted in this area. The path is Route 207, Route 684 (Dry Bridge Road) and Route 656 (Coleman’s Mill Road/Dry Bridge Road).

In Spotsylvania, Route 668 (Summit Crossing Road) will be closed at a crossing between Foundry Run Drive and Jacks Summit Lane. Signs will be posted along the recommended detour: Route 1, Route 639 (Ladysmith Road), Route 207 and Route 2.
