Virginia State Police is investigating a small plane crash that occurred Friday afternoon at approximately 2:34 p.m. off of Spotswood Furnace Road in Spotsylvania County.
A single prop aircraft had taken off from Shannon Airport in Spotsylvania when it apparently suffered engine trouble and had to land in a field along Spotswood Furnace Road.
The two people on board received very minor injuries.
The FAA has been notified. The crash remains under investigation.
