Watching for a NC coastal storm
A nice break in humidity comes on Friday afternoon with an occasional north breeze and a sunny sky. Afternoon temperatures will be in the 80s, then back into the upper 70s around 9 p.m., which is prime time for fireworks displays.
No rain is expected the rest of the weekend, and temperatures will remain close to normal before the humidity begins to creep back up on Sunday. A larger system is expected to take shape along the North Carolina coast, and depending on the precise track after it forms, there is potential for it to bring rain to the Fredericksburg region Monday or Tuesday next week.
Otherwise, the high humidity returns next week with scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoons. However, the heat from the last couple of weeks will stay away, with afternoons averaging in the 80s.
Normal temperatures next week:
Highs: Upper 80s
Lows: Upper 60s
