WATCH: Free Press forecast with meteorologist Sean Sublette

by | Aug 7, 2025 | ALLFFP, Region, Weather

Fast forecast

  • Afternoons in the 80s with sunshine
  • Humidity remains tolerable

  • Turning hotter by the middle of next week

The recurring clouds and occasional showers of the last couple of days will shift farther south this weekend, allowing for drier air to work into the Fredericksburg region from the north and keeping the chance of rain out of the forecast into early next week.

Humidity will be moderate for the next few days, allowing nights to continue in the 60s, but the weather turns hot and humid toward the middle of next week, increasing the chance for afternoon showers and thunderstorms.

While there are no direct threats to Virginia or North Carolina from the tropics, there are several signs that the tropics will get more active toward the middle of the next week, so keep a close eye if you have plans to be at the North Carolina or Virginia beaches for the weekend of August 16-17.

Normal temperatures next week:

Highs: Upper 80s
Lows: UpperĀ 60s
