The phrase “Enough is enough” reverberated Saturday through Lafayette Square in Fredericksburg during the Sounding the Alarm event, a grassroots response to the April shootings that left three young men dead in Spotsylvania County’s Olde Greenwich neighborhood.
Juanita Shanks, founder and CEO of nonprofit FailSafe-ERA, says she was awakened days later with the message: “Sound the alarm.” That call has become the heartbeat of a regional movement to confront youth violence head-on.
