Starting Monday, motorists will experience a full-time lane closure on Route 208 in Spotsylvania (Courthouse Road).
VDOT says crews will begin work at Lawyers Road and proceed west toward the east end of the Route 208 bridge over Lake Anna. This work will take place Monday through Friday as part of a full-depth reclamation project. Flaggers will be stationed at each end of the work zone to stop traffic, while a pilot truck will guide vehicles from the opposing direction.
The lane closure will begin around 7 a.m. on Mondays and will reopen around 5 p.m. on Fridays. Each day, the length of the lane closure will be extended to cover the section they plan to reconstruct that day. On Fridays, crews will pave the section they have closed for the week, before reopening the road.
VDOT says the project is expected to be complete by November 2025, weather permitting.
