With food insecurity affecting thousands across the region, a coalition of civic leaders, nonprofit organizations, and faith-based groups will gather on Tuesday, September 9, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Fredericksburg United Methodist Church for a community-wide Hunger Action Day event.
Jake DeNap of the Table, Dan Maher with the Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank and Meghan Samples of the George Washington Regional Commission’s Continuum of Care say the event is designed to do more than raise awareness—it’s a call to action.
Attendees will learn how to get involved—whether through volunteering, advocacy, or supporting local programs like The Table’s fresh food distribution and the Food Bank’s mobile pantry efforts.
The event is free and open to the public.
