Friends of the Poor Walk

Time: Registration begins at 9:15 AM. Walk starts at 10 AM.

All funds raised by the walk will be used for the Society’s work of serving people living in poverty in our area, which includes the City of Fredericksburg and the counties of Stafford, Spotsylvania, Caroline, and King George.

The Society of St. Vincent De Paul has been serving those in need in the Fredericksburg area for nearly 50 years, and runs a thrift store in the Olde Greenwich Shopping Center just off Lafayette Blvd.

Our mission is focused on eliminating poverty. We do so by providing a wide range of emergency financial assistance, such as assisting with back rent, overdue utility bills, and transportation/car-relatedproblems. Last year, we helped nearly 800 families, with about $300K in financial aid.
