It’s a snapshot of need in the community, and this year it’s a big one. Captain Ashley Mumford says just over 900 people are receiving help through the Salvation Army’s Christmas assistance programs.

The deadline to return Angel Tree gifts is next Monday, and volunteers are already working inside “Toyland” to assemble everything for families. Right now, the biggest need is clothing for infant girls ages 0–24 months.

Donations of toys, clothing or money can be dropped off at the Salvation Army at 2014-C Lafayette Blvd.
