Two public meetings on Monday, January 12th, to discuss plans for a memorial for the Slave Auction Block.

Gaila Sims says this presentation is part of the ongoing design process for a permanent interpretation of the corner of William and Charles Streets, where the Auction Block once stood:

Monday, January 12, 2026 at 4 p.m. in person at the Fredericksburg Branch of the Central Rappahannock Regional Library, 1201 Caroline Street.

• Monday, January 12, 2026 at 7 p.m. in person at James Monroe High School, 2300 Washington Avenue.
