Spokeswoman Casey Hollins says crews are staged, materials are in place, and plans are ready to respond to any power outages caused by snow, ice, or strong winds. The cooperative urges members to prepare ahead of the storm by fully charging electronic devices, gathering extra blankets and warm clothing, and reviewing backup heating or generator plans if available.
During the storm, members can track outages at myrec.coop/outagecenter and report outages by texting OUT to 63273, online at myrec.coop/out, or by calling 1-800-552-3904.
Hollins also reminds residents to stay away from downed power lines, always treat them as energized, and report them immediately to emergency services and the cooperative.
