The Fredericksburg Arts Commission is hosting its January–March quarterly Art Supply Drive, with all donated materials benefiting Empowerhouse, a Fredericksburg-based nonprofit serving survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and intimate partner violence.
The Art Supply Drive was developed as a community-based initiative to expand access to creative tools for organizations providing arts programming to individuals with limited resources.
While the Fredericksburg Arts Commission administers multiple funding cycles supporting public art, arts events, and nonprofit arts organizations, not all impactful programs meet eligibility requirements for direct funding. The Art Supply Drive was created as a practical way to support organizations offering arts access through direct community participation.
Through partnerships with local galleries, art spaces, and community organizations, the Arts Commission coordinates the collection and distribution of art supplies to ensure donated materials are placed directly into programs where they are most needed. For Empowerhouse, access to art supplies supports therapeutic, educational, and empowerment-based programming for survivors and their families.
