Downtown Fredericksburg has advanced to the championship round of Garden & Gun Magazine’s “Best Main Street in the South” competition, placing it among the top two Main Streets in the South.
The bracket-style competition highlights standout downtown districts across the region, celebrating communities known for their local businesses, dining, walkability, and strong sense of place. Winners are determined by public vote, and Fredericksburg’s advancement reflects overwhelming community support.
“Reaching the championship round is an incredible moment for Downtown Fredericksburg,” said Chris Allen, executive director of Fredericksburg Main Street. “This recognition is a direct reflection of our small businesses, our vibrant downtown experiences, and a community that continues to show up and support one another.”
Voting is open for the final round, and Fredericksburg Main Street is encouraging residents, visitors, and supporters to help secure the title by casting their vote. Vote at: https://gardenandgun.com/bracket/vote-best-main-street/. Voting takes less than 10 seconds, requires no account or personal information, and participants can vote once per hour per device.
Voting for the championship round ends at 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7 and the winner will be announced on Wednesday, April 8. With the final round expected to be highly competitive, community participation will be critical in determining the winner.
