A staff analysis determined that the Gateway Commerce Center, a proposed data center in the county, is “substantially in accord” with the comprehensive plan. The planning commission will now make a determination, and should it arrive at the same recommendation, it will need to identify at least one finding or rationale as to why the proposal is consistent with the comprehensive plan. On Oct. 16, 2024, the planning commission voted to recommend denial of a rezoning for the project because of concerns over impacts and impact mitigations tied to a variety of industrial land uses at the time the application was proposed.
