Spotsylvania Health Department closing for two weeks to prepare for move

The Spotsylvania County Health Department will operate out of a new location, starting Aug.10. The new Spotsylvania County Health Department will be located at 10300 Spotsylvania Avenue on the fourth floor in Suite 420.

Visitors are asked to proceed to the elevators in the main lobby upon arrival and take the elevator to the fourth floor. The entrance for clinical services will be to the left. The entrance for environmental health can be found just down the hall and to the left. Additional signage will be provided to help clients navigate the building.

The last day of operations at the current location within the Holbert Building will be July 24. The two-week closure will give staff time to move, set up in the new location, and test clinic flow and other operations prior to reopening.

“We are genuinely excited to relocate our health department to this new space,” Rachel Stradling, the Rappahannock Area Health District director, said in a press release.  “This strategic move represents a significant advancement in our mission to protect and improve community health. Being housed in the same building as the department of social services and the division of rehabilitative services enhances this effort even further. Bringing essential community partners together under one roof fosters collaboration, improves access to supportive services, and creates a more coordinated environment for addressing the diverse needs of the residents we serve.”

All services currently provided by the Spotsylvania County Health Department will continue in the new location. This new space also provides room for growth over the next year, the release states.
