by | Jul 18, 2015 | Government

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) and Spotsylvania County will jointly hold a public meeting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 21, 2015, to report on a study of Route 3 between Route 627 (Gordon Road) and the Orange County line.

“The study will identify ways to optimize traffic flow, minimize delays, and improve safety,” VDOT said in a press release.

The meeting will be held at Chancellor Community Center, 7300 Old Plank Rd., Fredericksburg. It will include a presentation explaining work completed to date on the Route 3 Corridor Transportation Plan study and recommendations for the area. “The study team has analyzed existing conditions and estimated future land use and traffic,” VDOT said.

“The team is soliciting public comment to ensure the findings are consistent with the experiences of drivers traveling in the study area.” Spotsylvania County and VDOT staff will be available to answer questions and accept comments.

Meeting materials will be posted online the day of the meeting at http://www.virginiadot.org/projects/fredericksburg/route_3_corridor_transportation_plan.asp
