The Stafford Sheriff’s Office says about 1:43am, deputies responded to an assist rescue at a residence located on Doyle Place. During the storm, a tree fell on the residence, injuring an 82- year-old male subject and killing a 78-year-old female subject who were asleep inside.
Stafford County Fire and Rescue responded to the scene and found the deceased female pinned underneath the tree. She was pronounced dead on scene at 2:02 a.m. The male subject was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
