VDOT has opened a new left turn lane on Route 1 southbound at Route 761 (Potomac Creek Drive) in Stafford. Drivers on Route 1 southbound now have a designated left turn lane at Potomac Creek Drive, which provides a safer environment for drivers turning left.
Potomac Creek Drive intersects with Route 1 between American Legion Road and Enon Road.
Construction is expected to continue on Route 1 in the vicinity of Potomac Creek Drive for several weeks.
Drivers can expect intermittent single lane closures in the work zone Monday – Thursday, 7 a.m. – 2 p.m. and Friday, 7 a.m. – noon, until the project is complete in Jan. 2020.
