Stafford Fire and Rescue responded to a fire at the Motel 6 on Warrenton Road just before 1:00 AM early Sunday morning.
Units arrived on scene less than four minutes after the first call and found a two-story motel with fire showing from a room on the second floor. Crews worked to extinguish the fire and held it to the room of origin. The fire was brought under control in approximately 20 minutes. There were no injuries.
Fire Chief Joe Cardello says eight rooms were determined to uninhabitable and about 17 adult occupants were displaced due to fire and water damage. Those occupants were able to be relocated to other rooms at the motel. Stafford Fire and Rescue was assisted on scene by the City of Fredericksburg and Quantico Fire and Emergency Services, and the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office.
The fire remains under investigation by the Stafford County Fire Marshal’s Office.
