Class Length: One day, 12pm – 3pm

Skill Level: Intermediate – Students should have a strong basis in ceramics and a studio to practice in.

Class Description: Interested in using slip to infuse your work with new color and design but don’t know where to start? This workshop will cover how to make your own slip, color it, and various techniques you can use in slip decoration to bring new life to your work. Greenware pots will be provided to test techniques, but students are welcome to bring their own leatherhard pots as well. The first half of the workshop will be demonstration-based and students are encouraged to take notes. The 2nd half of the workshop will be application-based where students can test methods discussed in the workshop. This workshop is meant to be informative and students will leave with new knowledge about slip recipes, application, and techniques to try on their personal wares.

Age Limitations: Ages 16 through adult

Supplies: Students should bring their own tools, paint brushes, hand towel, sketchbook for note-taking and apron.
