The State Board of Education voted 6-2 to give Mark Taylor a Superintenden’t’s license. That clears the way for Taylor to be hired by a divided Spotsylvania School Board.
“They’ve experienced horrors of war that civilians cannot imagine,” said Shepardson. “As a society, we owe it to those who have served to take good care of them when they leave the military.”
The anger among members of the Spotsylvania School Board was on full display Monday night. Frequent use of the gavel by the chair, to yelling and talking over one another.

The executive order outlines the steps to make it easier for people to obtain a teaching certificate as well as for retired and those from other states to teach in Virginia.
Fabiana Parker will be honored, along with seven other finalists, on September 30, 2022, at the Virginia Department of Education’s ceremony at the Governor’s Mansion.
The grant will be used to expand paid and credit-bearing student internships in collaboration with Virginia employers.
