VIDEO: The governor, Congressman Wittman and transportation officials were at the Stafford Airport on Wednesday to break ground on the second area express lanes project. It covers about ten miles from North Stafford to Route 17. The project is expected to be finished in 2022. Governor Northam calls it a big deal. Congressman Wittman urged local, state and federal officials to find money and extend the lanes to Massaponax.

VDOT says bridge beams for the new Route 17 overpasses at Interstate 95 in Stafford County will be placed during the overnight hours this week–starting tonight.

The Abel Lake Boat Ramp in Stafford and the parking at Kellogg Mill Road has reopened after safety and road improvements were made to the property.

Triple A says in Virginia, gas prices are eight cents per gallon cheaper compared to a month ago and 20 cents less than this same time last year.  In Fredericksburg, 28 cents less.

Motorists are advised of a single lane closure on southbound Lafayette Boulevard, between the Blue & Gray Parkway and St. Paul Street, from Tuesday, May 14th thru Thursday the 16th, between 9-3.
