National Weather Service calls heat a deadly weather hazard

The National Weather Services says the next couple of days will bring increasing chances for showers/thunderstorms, accompanied by locally heavy rainfall.
The National Weather Service says cooler today with highs in the low 80s for most (70s in the mountains) under mostly cloudy skies.
Forecasters say a quiet weather pattern into the middle of the week. After a warm up back into the low/mid 90s on Sun/Mon, a cold front cools the area off.

The National Weather Service says most of the I-95 corridor has been upgraded to a Slight Risk for Severe Weather from the Storm Prediction Center for thunderstorms that are expected to move through this afternoon into this evening.
Forecasters say a cold front will push through today, bringing another round of afternoon thunderstorms, a few of which may be strong to severe.
Storms likely again tomorrow.

Isolated to scattered thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and early evening mainly nort and west. Otherwise, hot and humid with heat indices in the mid to upper 90s.
