Animal Allies Academy: Earth Paws, Ages 10-12

Earth Paws- How caring for the planet connects to caring for animals.
Join the Animal Allies Academy, an engaging program designed for kids ages 6-9 & 10-12 who are eager to learn about life at an animal shelter! Kids enrolled in the Animal Allies Academy will meet on various weekend days once a month from 10:00am-2:00pm. This program will be held at the Fredericksburg SPCA, where your child will get one-on-one interaction with animals! Participants will discover the importance of animal care, shelter etiquette, and responsible pet ownership through hands-on experiences and interactive activities.
UMW 36th Annual Multicultural Fair

The Multicultural Fair generally attracts 5,000 to 6,000 people each year, and exemplifies the University of Mary Washington’s commitment to enhancing multicultural awareness. Held this year on Saturday, April 11th, the Fair provides an entire day devoted to multicultural entertainment, children’s activities, international and American food, and ethnic craft vendors. Each year, the Multicultural Student Affairs and James Farmer Multicultural Center work closely with UMW student organizations, faculty, and staff in planning festivities. The University also partners with the greater Fredericksburg community, which plays an integral role in successfully implementing the fair.
