The supervisors also voted to support a route for a new road and bridge over the Rappahannock River.
A new river crossing west of Interstate 95 has been under consideration for more than a year.
It’s still not certain that a new bridge will be built, but regional transportation planners will discuss the issue again in June.

The crossing would add lanes parallel to the general purpose lanes of I-95 between Route 17 in Stafford and Route 3 in Fredericksburg.
