Josh Hardy has received three does of the experimental drug brincidofovir, released for his use after a world-wide media campaign earlier this month.

“Josh is improving because the adenovirus is on its way to being suppressed,” his mother Aimee wrote in her online journal.  The Hugh Mercer Elementary School first grader is sitting up, doing homework and playing board games with his brothers, his mother told CNN.

Josh has a long way to go, but his family is grateful for the improvement he’s shown.  His mother continues to post updates at Joshua Hardy on CaringBridge and at SaveJoshHardy on Facebook.

“Many people have asked how they can support our battle against pediatric cancer,” his family wrote on Facebook. “Please consider supporting Coalition Against Childhood Cancer, Max Cure Foundation, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, KIDS V CANCER and Caringbridge.org in Josh Hardy’s name.
