VDOT Reports High Winds, Blowing Snow Are Limiting Visibility on Area Roads

by | Jan 23, 2016 | Traffic

Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) crews worked overnight plowing Interstate 95 and primary routes throughout the 14-county Fredericksburg District.

Snow continues to fall and high winds are causing limited visibility and drifting snow, VDOT reported. “Motorists should stay off the roads until conditions improve.”

This morning, Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016, all roads throughout the district remain moderate to severe, except in Gloucester County and Mathews County where conditions are reported as minor to moderate.

Crews will spend the day clearing the interstate, primary roads and major secondary roads that lead to vital emergency and public facilities. Plows are concurrently making a pass in subdivisions in the Fredericksburg area, whenever possible.
